A mixture of color, done right, can enhance a brand’s interest.
The above photo is the outside wall of the Science Factory in Eugene, Oregon, which lies right next to the University of Oregon’s football stadium.  Next to the immense football stadium, it’d be easy for this museum to get lost in the shuffle, but with it’s multi-colored panels, it sticks out and draws attention.
HERE is a picture of the whole building.

One of my favorite logos comes from Elephant Journal.  I’ve studied the logo numerous times over the past year, each time coming away incredibly impressed by the ease at which the logo calms me.  The brand Elephant Journal is a calming brand, but without even knowing that, somehow the elephant, the star, the orange and white color combination, they all promote a balance and harmony.
What the Elephant Journal logo proves to me, is that logos should represent not only the brand’s image, but the brand’s feel.  Every brand has a feel.  Allstate gives off the feeling of protection.  Dunkin’ Donuts gives off the feeling of treating yourself.  Again, every brand has a feel, and it can be showcased through the logo.
What’s your brand’s feel?
